The Animule Dance

The Animule Dance

Started as the Scrub Board Serenaders in 2013, this quartet of dapper, fun-loving individuals are now breaking new musical ground as The Animule Dance. Titled after a Jelly Roll Morton hit of the early jazz age, their thoughtful arrangements of classics by Jelly Roll, Fats Waller, Sidney Bechet, Hank Williams, Duke Ellington, and The Memphis Jug Band are a perfect launchpad for their unique chemistry and creativity.

Featured members Evan Arntzen (clarinet, saxophone), Sean Cronin (bass), Adam Brisbin (guitar), and Andrew Millar (percussion) have performed all over the world, with the likes of: JUNO winners Bria Skonberg and Amanda Tosoff, GRAMMY winner Vince Giordano, Gordon Webster, Catherine Russell, Terry Waldo, Jon-Erik Kellso, Dan Levinson, Michael Bublé, Dinah Washington, and more.

"I thought I heard an alternate universe where Lester Young, Milt Hinton, and Al Casey were jamming for their own pleasure.  Floating, you know. Not imitating, but  Being in 2018."
